कोरिया में काला जादू मु-इज्म (Muism) या शैमैनिज्म से जुड़ा है। मुदांग (Mudang – महिला शैमैन) या बाक्सु (Baksu – पुरुष) गुट (Gut) रिचुअल करते हैं। काला पक्ष में ह्यूक सूल (Heuk Sool) या ह्यूक मा बियोप (Heuk Ma Beop) है – शाप, आत्मा नियंत्रण और बुरी ऊर्जा भेजना। कुछ रिचुअल में जानवरों की बलि या खून से काम लिया जाता है। आधुनिक समय में भी लोग साजू (Saju – भाग्य पढ़ना) या गुट से दुश्मन को नुकसान पहुँचाने की कोशिश करते हैं।

In China, black magic is primarily known in the form of Gong Tau or Gu poison. Gu is a venomous insect-magic where several poisonous creatures are placed in a single pot and forced to fight; the sole survivor is considered the most toxic. This is used to kill or drive an enemy mad. Additionally, Jiangshi (the "Hopping Vampires") are corpses reanimated through black magic that drain life force ($qi$). Created through Taoist sorcery (wu) or necromantic rituals, they rise from graves at night to attack the living.
Japan: Onmyōdō and Ritual Curses
In Japan, black magic is linked to Onmyōdō, based on Yin-Yang and the Five Elements. Onmyōji, such as Abe no Seimei, utilized Shikigami (spirit servants) and curses. One of the most terrifying curses is Ushi no Koku Mairi (Shrine Visit at the Hour of the Ox)—the act of hammering nails into a straw doll at a shrine between 1:00 AM and 3:00 AM to kill an enemy. Yōkai, such as Kitsune (fox spirits) and Oni, are also closely associated with these dark arts.
Korea: Muism and Shamanic Rituals
In Korea, black magic is tied to Muism (Shamanism). Mudang (female shamans) or Baksu (male shamans) perform rituals known as Gut. The dark side of this practice includes Heuk Sool or Heuk Ma Beop—the casting of curses, spirit control, and the sending of evil energy. Some rituals involve animal sacrifice or the use of blood. Even in modern times, people occasionally use Saju (fortune telling) or Gut to try and harm their enemies.

In all three cultures, black magic highlights the significance of life force, spirits, and curses in East Asian heritage.
